Recently, Ericsson announced that it was elected by CMPak to expand GSM wireless communication network of CMPak in south Pakistan. Under the agreement, the project would commence this year and GSM wireless communication network provided by Ericsson would cover 312 cities in densely populated area of Sind and Beluchistan provinces in south Pakistan. As reported, CMPak was a new-built company after the acquisition of Paktel Company of Pakistan by China Mobile in 2007. As early as 1990, Ericsson had cooperated with Paktel Co., Ltd and had built the first wireless communication system in Pakistan.
