The Ministry of Commerce said it 'firmly opposes' the US anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigation into tires for non-road use imported from China.

The ministry said in a statement that the US Commerce Department initiated the anti-dumping case against China yesterday, the fifth such case launched by the US within a year.

The ministry said its US counterpart's anti-dumping moves are an 'abuse of WTO rules' and are not helpful for improving the two nations' trade relations.

The US initiated anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations over China-made 'light-walled rectangular steel pipes' and 'composite woven bags' earlier this month and 'circular welded carbon steel pipe' last month.
